Multiple RF2 installs on Steam

Hello, I think I saw a post somewhere that said it was possible to have multiple Rfactor 2 installs on steam but I have not been able to find out how. If anyone knows help would be appreciated. Thank you

my solution is:

installs:
E:\steamapps\common\rFactor 2
E:\steamapps\common\rFactor 2_bck

only the rFactor 2 folder works
to change the install you need to rename both folders
